In the case of a variable rate loan consisting of a reference rate and a fixed mark-up, changes in the reference rate cause the total interest rate to fluctuate during the term of the loan.

Can the Bank increase the amount of my monthly loan installments during the loan repayment period?

The Bank calculates the monthly loan installment from the loan amount drawn. The amount of the installments is adjusted twice a year during the loan repayment period (March and September), depending on the installment due date (8th, 18th, 28th or last day of the month). A new installment is due in the next accounting period. The calculation takes into account the outstanding principal amount, the remaining repayment period and the applicable interest rate.

Contactless payment is payment without physical contact between the payment card and the POS terminal. The contactless symbol is displayed on the POS terminal. An SKB card that enables contactless payment carries the same symbol.

Contactless payment - fast, contactless and secure:

  • Low-value purchases of everyday items are usually made in cash. No more struggling to find loose change in your wallet! Grab your contactless card and simply hold it close to a POS terminal. No touching and no need to enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
  • You can make most purchases up to 25 EUR with your new card without contact and without entering your Personal Identification Number (PIN). Purchases over the value of 25 EUR must be confirmed by entering your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
  • Random reading (scanning) of card data by unauthorized persons is not possible as this technology is comparable to or even more secure than chip technology.
  • Don’t worry! You can use your contactless card without fear of walking past a POS terminal with your card in your pocket and unknowingly make a payment. A POS terminal does not detect a card that is in your pocket.
  • If you approach a POS with a wallet containing several contactless cards, the POS declines the payment. You must bring the card closer to a POS terminal without any other cards.

Payments UP TO 25 EUR - contactless and without entering your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Bring the card closer to the contactless symbol on the POS terminal and wait for a light and/or sound signal. After the payment is executed, take the payment receipt.

Payments OVER 25 EUR - contactless and by entering your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Bring the card closer to the contactless symbol on the POS terminal, enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and wait for a light and/or sound signal. After the payment is executed, take the payment receipt.

Good to know when you get a new card replacing your old card:

  • Your new card is already valid and you can start using it after you receive your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
  • You can change your Personal Identification Number (PIN) at all SKB ATMs.
  • You can only start making contactless payments with your new card after the first contact transaction (e.g. making a payment at a POS terminal using your Personal Identification Number (PIN), checking your balance at an ATM ...)
  • Your current card will expire at the latest at the end of the following month after receiving the new card, or earlier, depending on the expiry date of the current card.

During the card replacement period, you will:

  • receive two statements (paper or via SKB NET) for each card, which will show transactions completed, and separately displayed transactions for both cards in SKB NET.

What does the European Investment Bank do?

The European Investment Bank borrows money on the capital markets and lends it on favorable terms to projects that support EU objectives. About 90 % of loans are made within the EU. It does not receive any funding from the EU budget.

The European Investment Bank provides 3 main types of services:

  • Lending – about 90 % of its total financial commitment. The Bank lends to clients of all sizes to support growth and jobs. Its support often helps to attract other investors.
  • 'Blending' - allowing clients to combine EIB financing with additional investment.
  • Advising and technical assistance - maximizing value for money.

The EIB makes loans above EUR 25 million directly. Where smaller loans are involved, it opens credit lines for financial institutions that then lend funds to creditors.

The role of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB)

The Council of Europe Development Bank’s mandate is based on a balance between the need for profitability, which guarantees the financial independence of the Bank and its social vocation. The Bank grants loans to member states, local communities and financial entities. Since it does not receive any annual contributions from its member states, the Bank raises its resources through paid-in capital and reserves, and through the funds it obtains in the financial markets. Its foresight in financial markets has earned the Bank a good rating (rated by the three largest and most reputable rating agencies). It enjoys an AAA rating from Moody's Investors Service and an AA + rating from Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings. As a result, it is able borrow funds on favorable terms and forward the same funds on favorable terms.

I would like to find out more about leasing

The difference between a loan and a lease is that when you buy a vehicle with a loan, you acquire ownership of the vehicle immediately, while with a lease, the lessor remains the owner of the car until the lease is repaid.
The lessor will grant you a lease in the amount and with a monthly installment corresponding to the inflows into your personal account. The lowest monthly installment is 100 EUR.
Leasing features:

  • The repayment period for a car lease can be up to 7 years,
  • the option to buy a used or new vehicle,
  • in most cases the deposit is at least 20% of the value of the vehicle,
  • the option of choosing between a fixed or variable interest rate,
  • the cost of approval is comparable to the cost of getting a loan.

To obtain a lease, the client must submit proof of regular income (salary, pension or other income). Foreign citizens are additionally required to have a guarantor. Leasing insurance is the object of the lease itself, i.e. a vehicle that remains the property of the lessor until the last installment has been paid. Additional leasing insurance is usually not required, but the vehicle must be insured.

  • In case of serious illness of the insured person, after the expiry of the first two years of insurance, the sum insured for death is paid as an advance in the share agreed in the policy. The amount of the advance payment is reduced by the sum insured for death.
  • In case of hospitalization of the insured person due to an accident, a daily allowance for more than four consecutive nights spent in the hospital as a result of the accident (up to 365 consecutive nights) is paid.

A credit consists of two parts.

If you paid VAT, the VAT value is recognized as an overpayment. The overpayment shall be recorded as a payment at the first subsequent installment. If you have outstanding liabilities from previous periods, the VAT amount from the credit closes part of your existing debt.

In the second part of the credit you have to indicate the date of the VAT correction in your records or select point 1 or 2 (taking into account the actual VAT status at the beginning of the financing).

If you wish to pay off your obligations early, you will be issued a so-called informative calculation. Based on your payment clearly visible in the informative calculation, we will proceed with the closeout of the contractual relationship with the authorization to delete our ownership.

Why is investing your money into a savings plan a good decision?

Regular monthly investments ensure that the investor, on average, does not only buy when the average exchange rates are high, but also during periods of falling rates and capital crises, that is, when the average exchange rates are low. In this way, the investor builds an average price, using the average purchase cost method, which in the long run enables them to achieve the average long-term return of the chosen investment.

What does the contract closeout procedure involve and what are the documents required for a change of ownership?

After you have paid the last installment, we close your contract and send you a contract closeout letter within a few days, which contains the authorization to delete ownership. The taxpayer can file the return to the tax office located where he/she has permanent residence, or in electronic form using the eDavki system. At the end of the billing period (usually 11 days before the agreed payment due date), a statement and (internal) direct debit with the total amount of payments (credit card bill amount) are prepared.

If the client executes an early repayment after the billing period has ended, the following happens:

  • your used card limit will be released in the amount of the repayment at the latest on the following business day, which you will also be notified of with a pop-up window. .

    Opozorilo
  • On the payment due date, a direct debit to your personal account is made for the credit card bill amount,
  • as a result, the client will have an overpayment amount on the card account corresponding to the amount of the early repayment. You will also be notified of this in a pop-up window notification that appears between the time the statement is being prepared and the debit date.

This does not occur during the billing period, as the statement and direct debit for the amount spent with the credit card have not yet been prepared. An overpayment cannot occur if the client pays only the difference between the spending amount and the credit card bill amount after the end of the billing period.
