As of 1 June 2022, the maximum limit threshold for the one-time payment limit with Maestro, Mastercard and Visa contactless cards will be changed from 25 EUR to 50 EUR.
Non-cash payments will thus be even faster and easier, as you will no longer have to enter a PIN number for payments up to and including 50 EUR at POS terminals at points of sale in Slovenia.
The entry of the PIN number will be required to confirm contactless payments over 50 euros, and exceptionally also for contactless payments below 50 euros, when such a request is made by the POS terminal.
The change regarding the increase of limit for contactless operations will be introduced gradually from 1 June 2022 onwards.
